Adopting a Healthy Lifestyle – How to lose the body fat?

Incorporating exercise and a healthy diet into your everyday routine may seem somewhat challenging, but it is a lot easier than you think.

The key is to see these changes in a positive light and not as a big effort that requires you to give up things you love to eat or to spend additional time that you don’t have. Food can still be enjoyable and the occasional treat is nothing to worry about. The important thing is to try to make sensible choices in your day-to-day life and set yourself realistic goals. Start by making small changes that you feel comfortable with and gradually add more healthy choices to your everyday routine.

It is necessary to look at life in a new way – you are adopting a new healthy lifestyle to turn you from a prostate cancer survivor into a prostate cancer conqueror. You are making changes to help you stay healthy and improve your health over the long term.

For many people, a diagnosis of cancer makes them focus on their health like they have never before. Regular exercise and good nutrition can help prostate cancer patients and survivors feel better and healthier. A healthy lifestyle can also help with side effects of prostate cancer treatment such as weight gain, bone thinning, muscle loss, tiredness, etc.

Eating right and exercising are the best things you can do after cancer treatment. Getting and staying at a healthy weight will have positive effects for the rest of your life.

How do I lose my body fat?

Losing body fat is a relatively simple concept in theory but it can sometimes be a little more challenging to accomplish. Indeed, all it takes to lose fat is to eat fewer calories per day than you burn. This can be done by avoiding high fat foods, sweets and refined carbohydrates and replacing them with fruits, vegetables and low-fat proteins from fish, poultry and seafood.

Here are some tips to help you reduce your fat intake:

  • Replace high-fat red meats and farmed fish with white meat (turkey, chicken)
  • Replace rice pasta, potatoes and breads with fruits and vegetables
  • Replace ice creams, cakes, pastries and high-sugar desserts with mixed berries and fruits
  • Replace cheese and full-fat dairy products with non-fat and low-fat dairy and soy products
  • Replace soft drinks with water
  • Reduce the use of added fats, oils, margarine, butter, and salad dressing
