Resolutions? No thanks!

Every year I make a list of resolutions to realize that over the months, they go out the window. Indeed, three times in my life, I signed up for a gym membership and paid a high annual fee, to be in shape for the summer season… Well, guess what?

Are you one of those people who make resolutions but don’t keep them? We are all naturally resistant to change. So if you choose to make several resolutions at once, you may get discouraged quite quickly; the anticipated changes may not materialize and your resolutions may end up being unrealistic.

If you’re going to make resolutions, it’s best to go step by step: one small change at a time; one step at a time; one bite at a time! When a habit is well assimilated, add a new one to your routine if you feel like it.

That said, there is one resolution you have made and maintained over the course of your life, and that is fighting prostate cancer

If you received a diagnosis of prostate cancer…

Indeed, this vital resolution cannot be swept under the rug, as it is synonymous with courage, patience and resilience. You should be proud of it!

We all know that prostate cancer greatly affects the quality of life of those who suffer from it, especially at an advanced stage. It can therefore sometimes be difficult to manage the disease on a daily basis. If this is your case, you could go through this ordeal a little more serenely if you refocus on yourself and on what matters most to you.

Perhaps a resolution renewable each year?

We too often forget that the simplest pleasures are those that make life better. Learn to enjoy every moment and to appreciate those and what surrounds you, if only nature, a blue sky, music that soothes you, a good meal, a smile…

Maybe in the end your annual resolution will be to find those little pleasures that do you so much good…
